About the Show

My Wrong Timeline is a Pixar-style animated comedy series set in the fictional town of Plainview (population 420, motto: "Nothing to see here"). The show follows Sam Marvin, a 28-year-old inventor who one day dreamed the blueprints for a machine, felt compelled to build it, and discovered it opens portals to realities nothing like our own. He doesn't know where the dream came from. He keeps using the machine anyway.

The series blends small-town ensemble comedy — a cast of 52 recurring characters including a pizza chef and a French chef who argue across Main Street in different languages, a neighbor who tracks the garage glow in a spreadsheet, and 20 tropical fish in the Marvin living room who secretly perform famous scenes from classic plays and musicals when nobody is watching — with spectacular interdimensional adventures where every reality Sam visits has its own distinct visual style, from classic 2D comic book worlds to dark gothic stop-motion.

Every reality Sam enters is a world in crisis. He doesn't understand why the machine keeps pulling him toward danger. Over the course of the first season, he begins to realize the destinations aren't random — the machine responds to need. Why it chose him is the show's central mystery.

No direct competitor currently produces a 3D animated small-town ensemble comedy with surreal interdimensional adventures as a full-length series — let alone one made by a single creator. The niche is open.

My Wrong Timeline is a Pixar-style animated comedy series about a small-town inventor whose homemade machine keeps opening portals to realities in crisis — and he has no idea why it chose him. Set in the fictional town of Plainview (population 420), the show features 52 recurring characters, a 20-performer fish tank secretly staging classic plays and musicals when nobody is looking, and hidden easter eggs in every episode. The entire series is written, designed, and produced by one person, Christian Marvin, from a home studio in Charleston — producing broadcast-length animated comedy. It premieres across 20 platforms simultaneously.

About the Creator

Christian Marvin is a Charleston, South Carolina–based creator and the sole producer of My Wrong Timeline. He designed every character, wrote the series bible, built the production pipeline, and generates every frame of animation from a single workstation in his home studio.

The project started with a question: could one person, using a modern rendering pipeline, produce a broadcast-quality animated comedy series? The result is a 51-character show with a 22-minute episode format, produced at a fraction of what a traditional studio would spend.

Christian is available for interviews and can discuss the creative process, the future of independent animation, and what it's like to run a one-person studio that does the work of twenty-three departments.

Story Angles

  • It's a Show, Not a Demo — My Wrong Timeline is an animated comedy series with 52 recurring characters, season arcs, and hidden rewatch rewards. The production method is trade-craft, not the identity. The audience cares about story and comedy, not how it was rendered.
  • One Person, Twenty-Three Departments — The production pipeline replicates the full structure of an animation studio — writers' room, art direction, casting, sound design, quality control — run by a single creator from a home office in Charleston.
  • Who Gets to Make Television? — Traditional animated episodes require studios, teams, and six-figure budgets. This one is made by one person from a home office. What does that mean for who gets to tell stories?
  • Local Creator, 20 Platforms — A Charleston-based creator producing a full animated comedy series distributed simultaneously across 20 platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Reddit, X, Snapchat, Threads, Bluesky, and more.
  • The Simpsons Blueprint — The show's structure is modeled on television's most durable animated comedy: ensemble cast, anchored emotional home base, elastic reality with firm rules, and humor that ranges from slapstick to genuine vulnerability.
